Jay is the founder of Charts Avenue and has over 20 active years in the financial markets.

Jay started his career in the Commodities and Trade Finance, with Swiss Bank Corp. in Geneva, Switzerland.
He then moved to UBS Investment Bank, Equities division in Zurich, Switzerland. There, while being an equities dealer, he had the privilege to do many stints at the proprietary trading desk covering European equities.

While trading, Jay started developing an interest for Technical Analysis and in 2002 went to the New York Institute of Finance to complete his first Technical Analysis certification. While in New York, Jay had the humbling experience to meet with the (back then) most renowned Technical Research team and found one common denominator of the team members… they were all CMT charter-holders.

CMT® is the only technical analysis designation recognized by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Since 2003, Jay has been a member of the CMT Association.
In 2005, while studying for his CMT
®, Jay moved to UBS Wealth Management in Singapore

and received the coveted Chartered Market Technician® designation in 2008.

In 2016, Jay left UBS to pursue his passion of Technical Analysis and started Charts Avenue.

In 2018, Jay was a contributor to Asia’s first virtual trading conference that attracted more than 23,000 participants.

Jay is also a guest speaker on StockCharts TV's The Final Bar with David Keller and a contributor to the CMT Association's Asia Technical Analysis Conference where he presented the very well received "A Consistent Process for Positive Expectancy".

In late 2020, with the Covid/lockdown situation, Jay took the opportunity to deepen his knowledge in Data Science and after completing a 9 months full time education program, Jay is now a certified Data Analyst.
