Jay A. Petit, CMT is the founder of Charts Avenue and a seasoned financial markets professional with over 20 years of active experience. Jay is one of only eleven veteran CMT charter holders active in Singapore. Only 72 people meet this criterion in Asia-Pacific.
Jay started his career in the Commodities and Trade Finance at Swiss Bank Corp. in Geneva, Switzerland. He subsequently transitioned to UBS Investment Bank's Equities division in Zurich, Switzerland, where as an equities dealer, he gained invaluable proprietary trading experience covering European equities.

His fascination with Technical Analysis began while trading, leading him to complete his first certification in 2002 at the New York Institute of Finance. While in New York, Jay had the formative experience of meeting the legendary Louise Yamada, CMT, and her esteemed Technical Research team in Citigroup’s iconic chart room.

A dedicated member of the CMT Association® since 2003, Jay earned the esteemed Chartered Market Technician® (CMT) designation in 2008. The CMT® is the exclusive technical analysis designation recognized by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

In 2005, Jay relocated to UBS Wealth Management in Singapore. A decade later, in 2016, he left UBS to fully dedicate himself to his passion for Technical Analysis by launching Charts Avenue.

Jay's contributions to the financial community include his participation as a contributor to Asia's first virtual trading conference, the "Online Trading Summit" (2018), which attracted over 23,000 attendees. He has also served as a guest speaker on the live television program "The Final Bar with David Keller," a regular guest author for the CMT's daily Chart Advisor Newsletter (produced in partnership with Investopedia), and a respected contributor to the various CMT Association's Technical Analysis Conferences, where his presentation, "A Consistent Process for Positive Expectancy," was highly regarded.
